Fabric FeaturesOrder The Fabric
Durable & capable of withstanding over 30,000 Double-Rubs.
This fabric is great for using in high-traffic enviornments where long-lasting durability is needed. Wall-Protection installations such as Chair-Rails or Wainscoting in hallways & common areas should be faced with a fabric that can withstand regular and repeated abrasions. Most fabrics with a High-Impact rating are suitable for high-traffic areas. High Traffic Fabrics can be expected to last in high-traffic environments for well over 10 years
A double rub is a motion that approximates the wear and tear that comes from someone sitting down on and getting up from an upholstered seat.
Regular use for a year is around 3,000 double rubs.
Common High-Traffic Environments
in Hallways & Corridors
in Gyms & Multi-Purpose Rooms
Medium Traffic Fabrics
Capable of withstanding 15,000 – 30,000 Double-Rubs.
Medium traffic fabrics are great for use in medium-traffic environnments where durability isn't as important. You can face a wall with less durable fabrics if it isn't expected to recieve regular impacts or wear. Walls behind a counter, residential spaces, conferences rooms or in any other area that doesn't see a high-volume of traffic can be considered medium or even low traffic.
Common Medium-Traffic Environments
in Living Rooms
in Conference Rooms
for Bulletin Boards
Low Traffic Fabrics
Capable of withstanding up to 15,000 Double-Rubs.
These fabrics are meant for use in environments that won't recieve regular wear or impacts. Ceilings or acoustic installations that are out of reach can be faced with low-traffic fabrics since they won't recieve much wear.
Common Low-Traffic Environments
on Acoustic Panels
Loosely Woven, allowing for air to pass through
This fabric is great for using in acoustically sensitive applications. Panels being used to absorb unwanted noise should be faced with a fabric that, like this one, has an open weave that freely allows air to pass through it.
Fabrics that have been treated with anything heavier than a 0.5 oz sprayed acrylic backing will generally be poor in acoustic applications.
Our Featured Acoustic Fabrics
FR701 Acoustic Fabrics
Guilford of Maine's FR701 acoustic fabric is made from 100% post-consumer recycled Polyester to produce a high-quality acoustical fabric that is recyclable at the end of its useable life.
Anchorage Acoustic Fabrics
Guilford of Maine's Anchorage acoustic fabric is made from 35% post-consumer and 65% pre-consumer polyester to produce a high-quality acoustical fabric that is recyclable at the end of its useable life.
Studio 54 Acoustic Fabrics
Guilford of Maine's Studio 54 acoustic fabrics are made from 100% Polypropylene and are pre-treated with Polyester Binder, a fabric stabilizer which prevents fraying and increases durability making it the ideal acoustical fabric for high-traffic areas.
This Fabric has proven to work well when repeatedly tacked
• It is Self-Healing
• Has a Plain-Weave Construction
• It Boasts Durable Fibers
• Leaves No Visible Holes
Use them in commercial and home offices, conference rooms, schools, kid’s rooms, modular workstations, hallways and anywhere you need to tack documents, pictures, notes, anything!
Suitable for use with MagTack backing
These fabrics are thin enough to be suitable for use with a magnetically receptive backing.
Facing a magnetic backing with a fabric that is too thick or has a raised pattern can inhibit the holding power of the magnetically receptive backing.
Made from at-least 60% post-consumer products
This fabric has been made from at least 60% post-consumer products. Recycling discarded beverage bottles and other plastics helps to reduce waste. These fabrics are recyclable, themselves.
Recycled fabrics are often eligible for LEED Certification points.
Certified to meet national & local fire codes
Having a fabric treated with a fire retardant DOES NOT guarantee that the fabric will meet ASTM E-84 Unadhered unless the fabric is treated AND THEN tested by an accredited tested facility.
The only test procedure that is acceptable by the national building codes for establishing the Class for a stretch fabric application is the ASTM E84 Unadhered (Steiner Tunnel Test).
Water & Solvent Cleanable
Standard Care Label W-S
Clean with water based cleaning agents, foam or pure, water free solvents. Vacuuming or light brushing is recommended to prevent dust and soil buildup.
